Resumes with 1 or 2 year Experience

Updated: Jul 12, 2022

EXECKART BRINGS YOU THE BLOG WITH INFORMATION WHICH IS USEFULL IN RESUME BUILDING.

IN THIS BLOG EXECKART EXPLAINS ABOUT THE POINTERS WHICH ARE USEFULL IN CREATING RESUME WHO HAS 1 OR 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

SO LET US START WITH THE POINTS

1. Show that you are a team player.

One of the most important skills hiring managers look for in less experienced candidates is the ability to work good in teams, whether large or small.

Opposite to popular belief, using words like “we” or “our team” doesn’t dilute a person’s achievements; rather, it strengthens the person’s impact.

And it’s far more effective than saying, “I’m a team player.”

2. Leave out the Objective in the resume

What a lot of candidates fail to realize is that objectives are pointless. Even if you truly are “looking a challenging team leadership position,” saying so still reveals nothing about what you can do for a prospective employer.

3. Professional skills

Adding a list of professional skills is essential section of a resume. You can use this section to list both soft and hard skills. Soft skills are traits you naturally have that you can develop further.

Hard skills are strengths that you learn through continuous training, work

experience or educational courses.

Below are some examples of what this might look like:

Examples:

 Social media campaign management

 Strategy and planning

 Market research

 Collaboration abilities

 Time-management skills

4. Include only relevant work and Internship experience

Listing each and every internship or job you’ve held only weakens the resume, It is because it distracts the hiring manager from focusing on how qualified you are for a specific job.

5. Achievements and Responsibilities

When listing achievements in your resume, you should add any specific change you made happen that the hiring manager can apply to their company.

Wherever possible, you should list accomplishments over responsibilities.

After all, the hiring manager already knows what your responsibilities are - they’ve probably gone through similar resumes over 1000 times now with the same bland responsibilities

6. Dates Employed

Just list how long you worked at your previous role for. Even if you don’t remember the exact day you got hired, you can give an approximate timeframe.

The standard format for dates employed is mm/yyyy.

7. Write Achievements Instead of Responsibilities

One of the best ways you can summarize your job experience is by showing your achievements.

In maximum cases, the hiring manager would generally be able to guess what your responsibilities were.

Especially if it’s anything like the one you’re applying for - they probably know the position inside out.

Instead, to stand out, what you can do is show your impact, in that role by including numbers.

8. Personal Projects

Everyone has a hobby or has experimented in his life.

It’s one of the best ways you can show your efforts, passion and dedication.

Any personal project you’ve been working on that is relevant to your current job position can help you stand out and show that you’re not making stuff up.

If you’re a student with not a lot of work experience, for example, you can use your personal projects section to back up your soft skills and your dedication.
